Here are the facts about the new energy tax credits:
- Provides a consumer tax credit up to $1,500 for 30% of the cost of qualified remodeling projects that improve the energy efficiency of an existing homeincluding replacement windows.
- Applies to any ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors purchased from January 1, 2009 to May 31, 2009.
- Applies to windows and doors with a U-value of at least 0.30 and solar heat gain coefficient of at least 0.30 purchased from June 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010.
